How to increase image size in KB
- 1
Add the image that is below the required size.
- 2
Enter the target size in KB, for example the minimum your form asks for.
- 3
Download the result. The image looks the same but the file now meets the size requirement.
Why make an image larger in KB?
Exam, job and government portals sometimes require a minimum file size, such as “between 50 KB and 100 KB”. A heavily compressed photo or a small signature scan can fall below that and be rejected.
We first re-encode the image at the highest quality that fits your target, which adds real detail. If it is still below the target, we add invisible padding inside the JPEG file so it reaches the exact size. The dimensions and appearance stay the same.
Frequently asked questions
Will this improve image quality?
It can recover a little quality by re-encoding at a higher setting, but it cannot add detail that was lost before.
Will the file be exactly the size I enter?
Yes, in almost all cases it matches the KB value exactly, so it passes both minimum and maximum checks.
Are the image dimensions changed?
No. Width and height stay the same; only the file size increases.
What if my image is already larger?
It is compressed down to exactly the size you enter instead, so it still matches the form’s requirement.
