How to edit an image online

  1. 1

Choose an image, drop it on the page, or paste it with Ctrl+V. The editor opens full screen.

  2. 2

Use the tabs to crop, rotate or flip, resize, and pick the output format and quality or an exact file size. The preview updates as you go.

  3. 3

Check the result size at the bottom, hold "Compare" to see the original, then download.

Every common edit in one place

Most photos need more than one fix before they are ready to upload: a crop to the right shape, a quarter turn, a smaller size, and a file under a certain number of KB. The editor does all of that in a single step, so you only save once and never lose quality to repeated re-saving.

Edits are non-destructive until you download. You can crop, then resize, then go back and change the crop, and everything is recalculated from the original. The final file is produced at full resolution with MozJPEG, so it is as small as possible for its quality.

Set an exact target such as 50 KB or 100 KB and the editor finds the best quality that fits. Tick “Match size exactly” to pad a JPEG up to the exact size when a form asks for a minimum.

Frequently asked questions

Does the editor upload my photo?

No. Everything runs in your browser, and the image never leaves your device.

Can I crop to an exact pixel size?

Yes. Type the width and height in the Crop tab, or pick a ratio such as 1:1 or 16:9 and drag the box.

Can I make an image larger in KB?

Yes. In the Compress tab choose "Target size", enter the KB you need and tick "Match size exactly".

Can I open iPhone HEIC photos?

Yes. The editor opens HEIC and HEIF photos from iPhones, as well as JPG, PNG, WebP, AVIF, GIF, TIFF, BMP, SVG and ICO, and saves them in a widely supported format.

Which formats can I save as?

JPG, PNG, WebP or PDF. JPG, WebP and PDF support quality and target-size compression; PNG is lossless. You can also rename the file before downloading.

Does it work on phones?

Yes. The editor is designed for touch: drag the crop handles with your finger and switch tools from the bottom bar.
